Back in 2012 I semi-retired from a long career in Australia's premier Harley-Davidson dealership. I had vague daydreams of picking out a rescue doggo, taking him fishing and cruising around the beaches, spending more time with family members...but that time-off didn't last more than a couple of months. I was honoured to be asked by several other H-D dealers to consult for them, and that's the genesis of Phil Heath Consulting.

Since then I've consulted and assisted H-D dealers in AU and NZ, established and managed an international office for one of H-D's USA-based Official Licencees, worked full-time for other Harley dealers, and moved to New Zealand while retaining my Aussie home too. The beaches and their dunes (my favourite places), and the doggo...well, I'll get to them someday. Meantime I have my family's pets to borrow, in Brisbane Schmidt the cat and Cake the dog (yes, Cake), and in Auckland the #notmycat Archie from across the street who visits a lot.

I'm excited to be consulting again! My strength in the motorcycle industry, for many years representing important aspects of Harley-Davidson Motor Company to over 20 dealerships in 3 countries (Australia, New Zealand, New Caledonia) and also in BMW Motorrad dealerships, was in assisting dealers to greater sales in most facets of their businesses.
For motorcycle unit sales I assisted through industry-leading sales training, great advertising, and conceptual showroom layout and design.
In Parts and Accessories and Rider Equipment areas for which I held the lead role, the achievement came from greater profitability from lesser stock, along with training dealers in best-practice merchandising techniques, and again industry-leading sales training and showroom layout and design. Further, I was, and remain, an innovative marketer.

I have the bases covered...the theory, the practice, the knowledge, decades of hands-on, real-world, in-showroom experience...and the training skills to pass it on to your staff.

Helping BMW Motorrad
In 2005, at the request of BMW Australia, I prepared and presented a brief Seminar on BMW Rider Equipment to Dealer Principals and key staff of every BMW dealer in Australia and New Zealand.
Why did they ask me? Because in the Brisbane and Gold Coast dealerships in which I managed the BMW Rider Equipment areas, we sold enormous quantities each year...while other BMW dealers in AU and NZ could not.

Why did it sell strongly and profitably in 'my' stores? Because I knew how to sell it. All the training I had undertaken, and passed on to my staff, gave us the full toolbox we could use for confident selling of top-end, immaculate-quality, reputable-brand products. We could show that value for money outweighs the common perception of higher pricing.
